January 22, 2008 Vanguard Solar Selects Battelle to Assist with Product Development
Vanguard Solar is pairing with technical research giant Battelle Memorial Institute to scale up aspects of the VS innovative, patented photovoltaic solar cell design and production process. Vanguard CEO John Palmer and CTO Dennis Flood have selected Battelle based on earlier successful collaborations. The research will be conducted at Battelle’s Columbus, Ohio facility. Results, expected in early 2Q08, will propel Massachusetts-based Vanguard Solar, an innovator in high performance flexible, low-cost renewable photovoltaics, into scale-up activities, with product anticipated in early 2010. Featured start-ups were chosen by virtue of their innovativeness and the feasibility of their business concept. Vanguard Solar will also be an exhibitor in the Convention Hall. October 6, 2007 MTTC Conference on Clean Energy selects Vanguard Solar as presenting company
Vanguard Solar has been accepted as a featured presenter for the 3rd annual Conference on Clean Energy, sponsored by the Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center, the Massachusetts Hydrogen Coalition, and Energy Special Interest Group at the MIT Enterprise Forum. Vanguard Solar was selected from a group of young companies vying for the opportunity to address potential investors and business partners. Among the selection criteria were demonstrated progress in intellectual property development and business plans, as well as innovation and flexibility in business concept. August 7, 2007 Company receives Patent for key Chemical Bath Deposition process
Vanguard Solar was notified by Rice University that the first patent for its innovative low-temperature/non-vacuum Chemical Bath Deposition process has been awarded by the US Patent and Technology Office. The achievement is significant as the patent was awarded after less than two years of review and was granted with very broad claims which will permit wide applicability. Vanguard Solar has exclusive license to this patent worldwide for all fields. |
